- Research projects unrelated to the Trust's objects
- Organisations based outside the UK
Land Conservation
The Nineveh Charitable Trust is run by 3 trustees; Robert GH Lewis, NDA (Chairman), Michael F James, BSc PhD and John D MacGregor, BSc MSc
Each of the Nineveh Trust's Trustees have associated degree & Diploma level education in agricultural and farm business management as well as keen interests in associations such as the Royal Forestry Society, The Farmer Club, The National Trust and The Countryside Alliance.
These skills enable the Nineveh Trustees to make educated and professional decisions when it comes to choosing which applications for charitable funding and research grants get awarded.
Charitable Funding & Research Grants
Applications for charitable funding and research grants, should be made in the form of a letter, no more than 2 pieces of single sided A4 paper in length and should clearly outline the objectives and nature of your project. Proposals for land conservation, charitable funding and research grants should include the following:
- How much charitable funding do you require
- What the research grant will be spent on
- Your project methodologies for field studies
- The ways in which the data you collate will be used
- A list of key benefits your research project will produce
- How your charitable funded project will support the aims of the Nineveh Trust
Research Grants Awarded
The Nineveh Charitable Trust usually award research grants in the form of one-off payments, but on occasions do provide charitable funding to more complex and long term projects. Our annual charitable funding budget limits us to only award grants up to a total of £56,000 per year. Once your project receives our approval and provide charitable funding, we ask that you submit a report concerning your research grant, so we may publish it on this website.
The kinds of project that the trust has chosen to support in recent years has been for projects that have shared our aims of promoting the study and appreciation of agriculture, horticulture, ecology and land management. In fact last year, we awarded research grants to the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust for research into estate management and also provided charitable funding to 'East Kent Strokes' so they could purchase a new vehicle for their organisation.
