An important aspect in the construction of a garden shed is the material used for wooden boarding. Himley use two main boards; Shiplap and Loglap. Loglap sheds tend to be hardier as the Loglap board is thicker, but both hold up remarkably well over time.

One other main characteristic of a wooden garden shed is the type of roof used. Typically, Himley manufacture sheds with either an Apex or Pent roof. Both Shiplap Apex and Loglap Apex sheds are available to buy online, whereas currently Pent is only available online on Shiplap models.
